Competition is often something that gets taken for granted. Many of our riders may not be the football star, or the soccer hero, and most have not ever had the chance to hit a home run over the fence… some may feel bad about that.. Not Here! At Beyond Limits our riders are athletes, at the top of their sport! We encourage healthy competition for our riders and push them to be their very best. Working towards a goal of a successful horse show makes riding feel more like a fun sport, and less like therapy. There are a few ways to get competitive and bring home the Blue:
Special Olympics State Horse Show
Every year hundreds of Special Olympic Athletes flock to Gainesville, GA to Go for the Gold at the Annual State Horse Show. Beyond Limits riders are no exception! Our riders compete in levels Beginner through Advanced and almost always come home draped in medals. Special Olympics is a great opportunity to compete in a safe environment, against the best in the state! There are a variety of disciplines and classes the riders can participate in throughout the weekend. This event is often the highlight of the year and should not be missed!
Be sure to check out some pictures and videos of past Special Olympics to see our riders in action!
Local Horse Shows
It is our goal at Beyond Limits that the world become all inclusive, no matter what challenges you may live with. By pushing our riders to compete locally, against the able-bodied population, it has helped bridge the gap in our community. When able-bodied riders see how amazing and talented our Beyond Limits team is, they start to see that anything is possible! They grow in friendship and understanding of each other, and only good can come from that! As for our riders, competing against their peers has shown to boost their self-esteem tremendously, as well as their social skills and athletic ability.
